As was the case for numerous tunes of QuƩbecois origin, Joys of QuƩbec originally entered the Island repertoire via broadcasts during the 1930s and 40s from radio station CHNC, New Carisle, QuƩbec. Probably the best known tune that came to PEI in this fashion was Ste. Anne's Reel.

Later on, the tune was recorded by Don Messer and the Islanders.
