KP: Did you grow up in Woodstock?
ER: No, about 15 miles down the road here: Mount. Pleasant. Been up here fabout 20 years.
KP: Do you come from a musical family?
ER: Yes, they all played some. My father, his both brothers played and my mothers's only brother was a good player too. So I got a little touch of music on both sides of the family. But I was old when I started this thing. I never got any, very far on it (laughs). Well, my uncle was William Harvey, my mother was a Harvey and Dad's brother's name was James and he had a brother named John. They both played the fiddle: old time music, away back when I was young. But I never started the fiddle until I was 25, I suppose.
KP: Why was that?
ER: I used to play the organ and piano. I never had a chance much on the fiddle.
KP: What made you start?
ER: Oh, I liked the fiddle. I liked the fiddle, liked the sound of the fiddle. I should've started 15 years before. But anyway, I still enjoy it.
