This tune - converted to reel tempo from the strathspey "John of Badenyon" - is part of a medley once played for a special dance that kicked off wedding festivites in Cape Breton. It was usually followed in medley by "Hamish the Carpenter" and "Big Coffin Reel." Notation for the version played here by "Old Peter" Chaisson is in The Fiddle Music of Prince Edward Island.
