AS: The Donagh School is a new school, it's only six years old. The Donagh school parents wanted – They fundraised for a playground; they got the playground in and they wanted to have some kind of music program at the school. They thought of a band program and they discovered the price of band instruments was really, really high, so someone in the community suggested they might do fiddles, cause there was a lot of fiddlers from there. The Koughans, you've run into the Koughans?

KP: I inteviewed Bill [Koughan]

AS: Yeah. There's a whole bunch of Koughans and they all play fiddl,e and there's other good fiddlers from that area. They did a lot of concerts and fundraisers, and they raised quite a bit of money. I forget whether it was thirty or forty thousand dollars but they bought a lot of good violins with the money, and Ranita [Quinn Beard] has been teaching the program ever since. And I helped her in the beginning, looking for suppliers of violins, helping her set up any that need help with the bridges, and helping her with the tuning. And I sat in on a couple of classes..
