KP: You said your mother would sing the rest of the tunes to you. How did she learn the tunes?
CS: Now where she was born, there was fiddlers lived on either side. There was one house on one side there was 3 fiddlers, and on the other side there was 4 fiddlers.
KP: Where was that?
CS: Out in Millburn, about 5 miles north of where we lived up in Corraville. Millburn is the next district.
KP: Going towards St. Peter's?
CS: Towards St. Peter's, yes.
KP: Who were those? Do you remember the names?
CS: One family's name was Boxton. The other family was Guilfoy. And they were very musical families both of them, so she heard music from she was yeigh high [holds palm a couple of feet above floor] high, and it just came natural, she knew all the older tunes. So when I could get a little bit of a tune at a dance, all I had to do is bring it home to Momma and I'd pester her all day till I got it in here [points to head].
