JM The way I'd picked up tunes, I'd go to a dance, I'd hear a tune that I liked. And I'd take particular notice to that tune. And then when I'd go home I'd go to bed and the tune would be still floating around in me head. So perhaps in a week's time, I'd think of the tune and I'd start whistling it. It would come to me like that. I don't know how it would register there I guess in me brain, and then it would take that long for me to get it out, like. That's the way I found to learn a tune. I heard different ones saying though that there's people can hear a tune once and they can pick up the fiddle and play it. I'd have it in me head, you have to learn a tune before you could play it on the fiddle. In my case because I don't read music, the only way I can learn a tune is to learn it in me head whatever best – And then take the fiddle and try to play it and keep at it till I get it: what I think is right. Sometimes I haven't got the tune right.
