HG: My idea's whoever makes the tune sound the best - Hell with the note, play it that way. That's for all those people that put the music on paper, they're only human beings same as the rest of us. So if you can put a few little frills in a tune or something like that and it sounds better, sure, why not play it. So, someone might say to you, well, "That's not the way it's written down," eh? But that's what they say. The heck with the way it's written down. I like it this way and I'm goin' play it this way.You got to stick your neck out a little bit, you know. Just whatever sounds best to your own ears, I guess.
