DG: When I was growing up to be a fiddler, there wasn't many around then. There's wasn't a big demand then. I wouldn't even take the fiddle to a party if there was a bunch my age around. Cause nobody wanted to hear a fiddle.
KP: Why did interest in fiddling began to fall off in the 1960s and 70s?
DG: I don't know. I guess then the Beatles come out (laughs), when the Rock and Roll first come around. I'd say that's what took over there, and a different generation just got into that Rock and Roll music, and that's all they were into then. There was nobody interested in fiddling very much. But we're going pretty good now.
