TC – Timothy Chaisson
TC: Fifteen years ago they didn't really know if we were even going to pursue fiddle music at all, and I think they were really worried because at the time they didn't know if it was going to keep going.. Since then, we've done pretty well. JJ [Chaisson] has a couple of fiddle albums, and I have a couple of albums, and Melanie and Peter [Chaisson] have an album, and Elmer [Deagle] has a traditional music album.
KP: And that's just in your family.
JC: Yeah, that's just our family. And to see that they're all playing around B Elmer was in France all summer playing with an Acadian Band [Vishten], playing in Europe and all around there. Like for our generation I think we did pretty well to keep it going, and I don't know if it rubbed off on other people, but there are other people who are outside the Chaisson family who are playing as well. Like there's Cynthia MacLeod, she's a year older than I am, she's done very well: like two traditional albums, and you see lots of young fiddlers coming along like especially with the Queens County Fiddlers. There's a lot of them comin', so I think it's still strong for sure.
