KC The house parties used to be really enjoyable.
KP What, what were they like, can you describe them?
KC Oh, you'd be in a room there, and it's probably the back room of the house or something you know, and there'd be tea on up in the kitchen and there'd be sandwiches and a real home atmosphere type of thing, really, really homely, like, and people – It was just the thing to do then, eh? It seems like in the last fifteen years they moved into the – They'd have weddings home, we had lots of weddings at our home, right in the house, but now they go to those great big centers where they have to get everybody, in and it's just not the same.
KP I imaging there was dancing at these house parties?
KC Oh, yes. Just two rooms probably going at it at a time, you know.
KP What kind of dances did they do in this part of the island?
KC Oh, they'd do eight people, like four couples, and they'd go through a four figure set, you know. It used to get pretty dusty sometimes, too! I'll tell you! The poor violin player, any wonder he needed a drink? To force down the dust! [laughs]
