When we recorded them in 1992, the West Prince Fiddlers had been in operation for over a decade. According to piano player Dorothy Dalton Rogers, members joined to have "someplace to go. and if you have music in you at all, you miss it just like bread and molasses."
One evening every-other week, the group rehearsed ensemble versions of fiddle-tunes in a space provided by a Senior Citizen's Home in Alberton, Prince County, usually with an audience of avidly attentive residents in attendance. For many years, they maintained an active schedule performing for senior citizens' groups, town days, and a variety of other community and charitable functions.
