ER: James, James Rafferty.

KP: Do you know what part of Ireland he came from?

ER: The area he was born in was County Down.

KP: You say they built a cabin nearby?

ER: Yeah, just over on the Percival River, just the next river over. He came there and he built a cabin over there and started clearing the land then there, which was originally Bolger land, and on account of marrying into Bolgers, he became one of the owners eventually. Primarily the reason he came there originally was just due to failure of crop and there were two young men wanted to find a better way of life than what they had at that time.

KP: So there were two brothers and one of them you told me before went down to the States.

ER: They were both were here on the Island, but only one stayed. James he stayed, and the other fellow thought it was too cold so he was goin' back to Boston, where they had originally on their way from Ireland, had stopped over before they continued on to PEI
