KP: Did you ever meet Don Messer?
BM: Yes I met Don Messer when he lived on Belmont St. in Charlottetown. I'd be about 7 or 8 years old. Yep, a little house on Belmont St.
KP: And what was the occasion that you met him?
BM: I just went up there one evening and I kind of knocked on the door. I was walkin' up the street, and I seen him through the livin' room window, he was standin' there playin' the fiddle. And I knocked on the door. And his wife Naomi answered the door. "I'd like to go in and I listen to Don play." She said, "Sure come on in." I sat there for an hour, and Mrs. Messer made me a sandwich. I was there for about an hour, and hour and a half and then Don had to leave, he was goin' to Summerside that night, there was somethin' about the Air Force. He was playin' at the Air Force Base that night. This was about 7 o'clock in the evening I went to his place.
