KP: I know your Dad used to make a lot of things out of wood, and puppets, he showed me these dancing dolls he made [a set of dancing dolls operated by the fiddler's feet while he played].
VD: I have them here, actually. I kept them.
VD: I can remember, Dad and I were playing at the local club in Tignish one night; it was a concert and everybody had to play something. Dad had his little dolls with him. And I was backing him up on the guitar and we were playing. All of a sudden the crowd started to laugh. And we didn't know what was going on. And they were laughing, they were looking at the dolls and laughing. So I decided to look over like that and there was two woman and a man B the little dolls were two women both sides and the man was in the center. And the man's pants had fallen down (laughs). And Dad was still playin'. So he stopped and looked over at that, and he sort of cracked a smile, too. Somebody came over with a safety pin and put the pants up again, and off he went again (laughter).
