KP Would you find that the older fellows would take you aside and help you out?

JB Oh, if you asked them, yes, if you asked them for some information they'd tell you, you know, the right way to tune the fiddle and all that kind of thing and how to handle the bow, and try and loosen up as much as you can (laughs).

KP Do you remember any specific one or two times when you might have gone to an older fiddler and sat with him and they showed you certain things..

JB Oh, yes, because Campbells, Campbell's father, his father was a good player, and of course he wouldn't play very much but he'd be listenin' to us playin', when we'd be playin'. If we were makin' mistakes he'd check us, he'd say, "Look, boys, whatever you're trying to play there you're not playing it right"! (laughs) "You better do it right or else not learn it that way, or it'll be no good".
