EA Some put extra note in them - you know - different --- you know - - - a lot of players ... they put a lot of... It's like buildin a house -- you know, the rough work. But after the rough work is done you gotta' put on the trimming and all that stuff - but the fiddler's about the same thing, you see.

KP What do you mean by that?

EA Well, see, you put some extra note in the thing, you know. You could play the piece, just note, but you could add some note on it to make it more ... a little bit fancier, you know. You put the extra note in there in order to put the finishing touch on it - you know - like finishing the inside of the house. When you have the rough work done you got to do the finishing inside. Playing the fiddle about the same thing, when you start you just barely put the note together and then after a while when you got more practice you add more note - and more color to it.

KP What is some of the things that you - let's say you are going to take a tune that you had just learned - what are some of the things you would do to the tune as fine work?

EA Well

KP Could you show us with a tune maybe that you've learned recently and show us some of the things you've done to make it ...

EA Well LET me give you a little example - like this is the first tunes I learned - the first piece of music I learned

KP I could see there were some things you might call graces?

EA Yeah - just add a note onto note so it sound a little more lively. You know.

KP But there were different kinds of things you did.

EA Yeah
