Alternate Titles
Smith's Delight
Kitty's Wedding
The Hauling Home

This tune appears twice in Ryan's Mammoth Collection(later renamed 1000 Fiddle Tunes) - once as as "Smith's Reel," and a second time as the hornpipe "Smith's Delight." It is also classified as a hornpipe (and entitled "Smith's Delight") in Kerr's Merry Melodies, and in the Roche Collection, where is called "The Hauling Home." In the contemporary Irish fiddling scene the tune is usually known as "Kitty's Wedding" and played as a hornpipe. Notation for the version played here by "Young Peter" Chaisson is in The Fiddle Music of Prince Edward Island.

Interestingly, over the last few decades "Smith's Reel" has become a standard tune on the American fiddle contest scene.
