Recorded in this form in the 1930s by Cape Breton fiddler "Little Jack" MacDonald. The tune is probably a hybrid (the low turn is from the strathspey "Mrs. Ramsey," which can be cound in Kerr's Merry Melodies). Notation for the version played here by Kevin Chaisson is in The Fiddle Music of Prince Edward Island.
